Perfection is expressing God’s will enthusiastically.
We get caught up in thinking we have to handle things on our own and don’t trust that God will guide us. So, we push ahead, making decisions that don’t really line up with God’s will and don’t serve us in the long run. We end up making life harder than it needs to be.
Before we came into the Twelve Step program, many of us wanted to be perfect. We worked hard, sometimes too hard, just to get praise from others. But because we relied too much on ourselves, we often missed the mark. Now, we’re learning to let God take the lead. When we follow God’s will, we start to experience the peace and fulfillment we were looking for all along. It’s a much simpler way to live.
