Accepting other people as they are will give us peace.
Trying to live a “normal” life while someone we love is still battling addiction can feel exhausting. It’s hard to focus on work, daily tasks, and the people around us when worry takes over. But finding peace means accepting that we can’t control others—we can’t force a loved one to choose sobriety, and we can’t change their actions.
What we can do is shift our focus to our own thoughts and choices. Believing that everyone has their own path and a Higher Power looking out for them can bring relief. And as we learn to accept our loved ones as they are, we also learn to embrace others in the same way. That’s a powerful gift.

Today’s Affirmation:
I will practice acceptance every time I feel agitated with someone today. I know acceptance can become a healthy habit with enough practice.
