Suffering is usually optional.

No two people react the same way to the same situation.

One person might take something really personally, while someone else just brushes it off. And that kind of eye-opening, reminds us we don’t always have to take things so seriously.

A lot of the time, we can just let things go and trust they’re part of the lessons we’re meant to learn.

Sure, some experiences will hurt—but there’s a difference between feeling pain and drowning in it.

The more aware we become of how we react to things, the more power we have to choose how we move through them.

Over time, we can start to see every experience—even the tough ones—as part of something bigger.

When we take a step back and really look at how we’re responding, it helps us see things more clearly and handle life with a little more peace.

Today’s Affirmation:

I will take my journey in stride today and trust my Higher Power’s plan for me.

A Life of My Own

A Life Of My Own

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own, a “little book” that offers daily reflections, meditations, and prayers to support a clean and sober life, with practical spiritual guidance for everyday living.

Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. She has spent over 20 years speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth. Her recovery from addiction started in Twelve-Step groups more than 30 years ago, and she’s passionate about helping others in those same groups.

This summary is not a substitute for the original book; all quotes are paraphrased and credited to the author and publisher. Thank you.
