Old Habits are hard to break.
These days, we’re learning to respond differently—less about blaming or controlling, and more about listening with compassion.
We’re realizing it’s not our job to run other people’s lives—they get to make their own choices.
Asking for support from others who’s also in this journey has been a huge step forward.
Through the Steps, we’re picking up new values and a deeper sense of who we really are. And every day, we’re doing our best to turn our lives and our will over to God.
Change isn’t instant, it takes time.
But that’s okay.
Nobody’s asking us to be perfect.
And as long as we’re making even a little progress each day, we’re moving in the right direction.

Today’s Affirmation:
I can’t change the things that need changing overnight. Just knowing that some habits need to go is a beginning. Today I’ll work on one of them.

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own, a “little book” that offers daily reflections, meditations, and prayers to support a clean and sober life, with practical spiritual guidance for everyday living.
Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. She has spent over 20 years speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth. Her recovery from addiction started in Twelve-Step groups more than 30 years ago, and she’s passionate about helping others in those same groups.
This summary is not a substitute for the original book; all quotes are paraphrased and credited to the author and publisher. Thank you.
