A Thought for the Day

Leap Essence’s Thought for the Day is a daily meditation for those in recovery or dealing with addiction to alcohol or drugs.

*April 28*

The way we experience life really comes down to how we choose to see the world.

It’s normal to get annoyed when kids are acting up, feel upset when it rains during a fun day out, or get discouraged after losing a job.

But if you look around, you’ll notice — not everyone reacts the same way.

Some people bounce back quickly, while others get stuck.

It really comes down to whether we see the glass as half-full or half-empty. And that choice is always our to control.

Before finding programs like the Twelve Steps, many of us didn’t realize we had the power to choose how we see our experiences — even the hard ones — as a chance to grow.

We now see that every moment is actually part of our learning journey, which meant to help us, not hurt us.

Life goes by quickly, and there’s so much to learn along the way. When we start seeing each moment as meaningful, we stop labeling everything as “good” or “bad,” instead, we go with the flow, and start living with a lot more peace.

Today’s Affirmation:

I trust that by following the Twelve Step principles, the right answers will always come to me. Always.

A Life of My Own

A Life Of My Own

Today’s thought of the day is inspired by A Life of My Own by Karen Casey,— a small but powerful book full of daily reflections, meditations, and prayers, offering practical spiritual guidance for living a clean, sober, and more grounded life.

Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. With over 20 years of experience speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, she has dedicated her life to helping others. Her own recovery journey began more than 30 years ago in Twelve-Step groups, and she’s deeply passionate about supporting others on the same path.
