Even though we’re grown up now, we often carry with us our childlike interpretation of God. Learning to trust the God we hear about in the program takes effort. But the rewards are grand.
God will be a friend who guide us in every endeavor if we’ll suspend our resistance to the messages we receive: the words of loving friends; passages in a treasured book; specific suggestions from a trusted sponsor; the knowing that comes when we get quiet, really quiet, and listen to the urge within. Getting comfortable and relying on God will take the guesswork and the fear out of everyday happenings as well as traumatic ones. We will become the peaceful, serene people we’ve envied for years. All we have to do is change how we think about and pray to God.
I will look to God as my friend today, and my answers will come.
