Our Higher Power loves us unconditionally.

What is unconditional love? Not being able to explain what it is or how it might feel is typical. It’s certainly not unusual to have grown up in homes where love was expressed only in response to High grades or the completion of chores. Being loved for just being is not common memory for many of us.

Hearing from others in the group that they and God love us in spite of our defects is not very believable at first. Since childhood we have known we aren’t perfect, and thus we feel unlovable. Time will help us believe we are loved. Being surrounded by friends who express their love to us will help us believe. And the healing will come. The best result of believing in the possibility of unconditional love is that we’ll be able to feel it for others too.

Today’s Affirmation:

My Higher Power loves me fully today. Even If I fail to live up to my expectations, I will have lived up to God’s. Meditating on this will help me believe it.
