Guidance is a gift we can expect when we turn to our Higher Power.
When our children or our friends look to us for guidance, we feel compelled to offer suggestions honesetly and lovingly, and we hope we can help them. We want their lives to be peaceful and successful. Why should it be any different when we look to our Higher Power for guidance? God’s role is as a loving friend or parent. And we will know how to handle situations that used to baffle us if we let God’s guidance into our lives.
What a relief to know that we don’t have to struggle with difficult situations by ourselves anymore. The decision to leave a relationship, switch jobs, move, or confront a friend, no longer has to be made by us alone. A short prayer followed by quiet meditation will inform us of the action to take. If no answer seems to come, we can trust that right now is not the time for action. God’s timetable may be the same as ours. Let’s be patient.
Today’s Affirmation:
I will be more serene today If I follow the guidance that comes to me through prayer and meditation.
