To believe in change is half the battle.

We often focus on other people and the changes we want them to make. We might be convinced that if they changed, our behavior would too. But can we count on that? Some would say no, citing the old saying “wherever we go, there we are.” Instead, we need to change our behavior specifically. We can never count on others’ changing, but we can always count on our changing, if that’s what we want.

It’s really not difficult as long as we honestly desire to change and then surrender to our Higher Power, who will help us believe that anything is possible. The program promises that we can change. It’s up to us to follow through.

Today’s Food for Thought:

I really can change any behavior I’m not proud of. Today is as good a day as any to start practicing new behavior.

A spiritual resource with practical applications to fit our daily lives.

Karen Casey is also the Best Selling Author of Each Day a New Beginning, Daily Meditations for Women which has sold more than three million copies.
