Even ordinary experiences have much to teach us.
What does our Higher Power have planned for us today? We may not know exactly what’s coming, but we can trust that whatever happens will help us grow. Looking back, it’s easy to see how tough times shaped us, but we often miss how the small, everyday moments also play a big role in who we’re becoming.
Those little experiences teach us patience, help us accept others as they are, and remind us to let go of judgment. Over time, they guide us toward something even greater—learning to love. And that kind of growth changes everything.
Today’s Affirmation:
Within the ordinary experiences I will find my teachers today. I will be observant.
Since 1954, A Life of My Own has been a key resource for alcoholics in recovery worldwide, with over nine million copies in print. This revised “little book” offers daily reflections, meditations, and prayers to support a clean and sober life, with practical spiritual guidance for everyday living.
Karen Casey is also the author of Each Day a New Beginning. She has spent over 20 years speaking on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth. Her recovery from addiction started in Twelve-Step groups more than 30 years ago, and she’s passionate about helping others in those same groups.
