If you want to understand the secret of your universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibrations. —Nikola Tesla

A Beginner’s Guide to The Seven Chakras

American inventor and electrical engineer, Nikola Tesla once observed the fundamental block of the universe boils down to energy, frequency, and vibrations. In our everyday lives, we’ve felt this energetic field. A powerful life force within us all, known as chakras.

Data shows, we have seven detectable chakras that run along our spines. Although more studies concludes that we may have more than seven chakras that runs through our bodies — 114 different chakras, to be exact.

For starter, we’ll simply focus on the main seven. This guide will offer you  a clear understanding of their impacts on the mind, body, and spirit.

A Beginner’s Guide to The Seven Chakras

A Beginner’s Guide to The Seven Chakras

According to ancient Vedic wisdom, the seven chakras are derived from the Sanskrit word chakram, which mean “turning” or “wheel.” They’re like wheels or disks of spinning energy, ties in to specific nerve bundles and organs in the body.

The seven chakras are aligned vertically up the body, approximately seven fingers from each other.  Starting at the root or base of your spine, extended to the crown of your head, these seven chakras are always in motion. You can even say they are the “backbone” to your core energy center — transmitting energy from one point to another.

Each of these common seven chakras is associated with a particular element, color, and vibrational mantra. If the seven chakras become out of sync or blocked, chances are that your psychology, physicality, overall wellness, will also be impacted. For these seven chakras to function at their best, would required they stay open and balanced.

In his book, The Untethered Soul, Michael Singer talks a great deal about keeping these chakras open. Otherwise, it’ll be a challenge to regulate the bodily system, dealing with emotional turmoil and fighting diseases.

On that account, being proactive: Whether that’s going for a walk, weight training, eating wholefoods, —are for example, activities that allows you to flow your energy freely.

The following is an infographic of the seven chakras System, to help analyze these elements more deeply. Let’s have a look:
